Overview

Easy Glass Smart is a top-quality glass railing system that can save you money. Its aluminum base shoe includes a revolutionary feature for installing glass panels: the Q-disc System. A winner of the Red Dot Design Award, it lets you work more quickly and easily than any other glass railing.
For applications involving light to medium use, such as apartments, houses or stores, Easy Glass Smart is the ideal glass railing.

Q-disc System

The revolutionary Q-disc System offers the ultimate in ease of installation – the glass panels are secured with a simple turn of the built-in disc. Fix the base shoe in place, insert the glass and then – with just one simple hand movement – secure each glass panel.

With the adjustable version of the Q-disc system, you can also adjust the vertical position of each panel of glass. Simply move the Q-disc inlay to the right or left before securing the glass.

Four different base shoes

You can order four versions of the Easy Glass Smart glass railing, each with a different base shoe: top mounted, F shaped top mounted, fascia mounted, and Y shaped fascia mounted. The F and Y shaped shoes are specially designed for unfinished floors. They can also be installed at the edge of a surface or even beyond.

Available in black

Order Easy Glass Smart in RAL 9005 black to give the glass railing a modern industrial look. The top-mounted base shoe and many accessories, including corners, end caps and cap rails, are available from stock in black.

Would you prefer a particular color to coordinate with the appearance of your project environment? If so, we can powder coat our raw aluminum railing products in the color of your choice.

Can I adjust the vertical positioning of each glass panel in the railing?

Yes, thanks to the adjustable Q-disc system included in the scope of delivery, you can adjust the angle of each individual glass pane. Simply move the Q-disc insert to the right or left. When you are finished, fix the glass in position.

What types of base shoes are available for the Easy Glass Smart system?

Easy Glass Smart offers four different types of base shoes: 

  • Top mounted 
  • F shaped top mounted (specially designed for unfinished floors and installation at the edge of a surface or beyond) 
  • Fascia mounted 
  • Y shaped fascia mounted (also designed for unfinished floors and installation at the edge of a surface or beyond)

Can I choose a specific color for the railing system to match the building?

Yes, you can order the Easy Glass Smart railing system in RAL 9005 black to give it a modern industrial look. Additionally, the raw aluminum railing products can be powder coated in the color of your choice.

What thicknesses of glass panel are compatible with the Q-disc System?

The Easy Glass Smart system supports glass panels with thicknesses between 1/2" and 11/16".

Is Easy Glass Smart suitable for use in coastal areas with exposure to salt water and harsh weather conditions?

Yes. Easy Glass Smart is made of high-quality aluminum, which is known for its corrosion-resistant properties. That makes it highly suitable for coastal environments where salt water, moisture and harsh weather could accelerate the deterioration of other materials.

Are there any specific requirements for anchoring the base shoes to different types of surfaces, such as concrete, wood or steel?

Yes, there may be specific requirements for anchoring the base shoes of the Easy Glass Smart system to different surfaces. Because each surface material has different load-bearing capacities and structural characteristics, the appropriate anchoring method may vary. 

For concrete surfaces, mechanical anchors and chemical anchoring are typically used and provide strong, reliable attachment to concrete substrate. The specific option selected may depend on the thickness and composition of the concrete.
