Always find a match for your balustrade

Q-lights Linear Light LED strips are available in lengths of 5 and 30 metres and are pre-wired on one side. You can easily create longer strips by joining them with a connector. To shorten the strips, you can cut the strips at nearly any point. MOD 0090 and MOD 0092 strips have a cutting point every 3.3 cm. All the strips are incredibly energy efficient, using only 6 watts per metre. They also maintain their light density along their entire length.

High-grade safe LED handrails

Q-lights Linear Light LED for balustrades and stairs is available both for indoor (IP00 and IP20) and outdoor (IP54 and IP66) applications. You can confidently use this system in public spaces as the tough materials give it good protection against vandalism (up to IK10). In addition, the 30-metre-long LED strips and matching transformers are compliant with Emergency Class II.

FAQ

Am I allowed to install the LEDs?

Our products are SELV (separated extra-low voltage). This means that the voltages should never exceed 120 volts DC and 50 volts AC. These levels are too low to provide current that would give a lethal electric shock. You can therefore carry out the installation yourself. However, do get your installation checked by an electrician. Plus, the connection to the power grid must be executed by an electrician!

Can I solder the LED strips?

Yes, but the supplied length of, for example, 5 m cannot be exceeded. Also, Q-railing will not take responsibility for problems caused by bad soldering. We always recommend the use of connectors.

Are the LED strips dimmable?

Our LED strips are dimmable with the correct controller.

Can I just bend the LED strip instead of using a corner connector?

No, bending the LED strip horizontally will destroy the strip. With a large enough bend radius, it may be possible, but it is not recommended. For bending vertically, check our datasheets, where you will find the maximum bending radii.

Why does my new LED strip not work?

  • You connected + and – to the transformer the wrong way round
  • A cable is attached wrongly
  • Too much bending during installation
  • Too much twisting while unwinding the strip
  • Pushed too hard on the LEDs during installation

Do I really need to power each 5-metre, 24-volt strip separately (as per Q-railing’s system architecture)?

Yes, otherwise the LED strip would lose brightness due to power loss. Plus, the lifespan of the LED strip would be decreased. To avoid this, it is absolutely necessary to power each LED strip separately.
